Media reports, according to an Israeli security source, said: "Mojtaba Khamenei is not in Iran."

The source added that "messages attributed to Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei are being written by Ahmad Vahidi and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC)," claiming that "internal divisions in Iran are deep and threaten the very existence of the IRGC."

The same source also said that "Washington does not want Tel Aviv to take part in any operations, even if Iran attacks it." The source further claimed that "Iran had planned to assassinate Israeli figures in Tel Aviv in retaliation for the killing of former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei."
